And even the Doctor took notice.
From the Italian website Telefilm Central:
Nemmeno il Dottore è mancato, dato che Peter Capaldi è stato immortalato in compagnia di diversi fan durante la protesta.
Not even the Doctor has been missing, since Peter Capaldi has been immortalized in the company of several fans during the protest.
I think it was such a "yuuuuge" moment, both politically and culturally, that it will compare with events like Woodstock, the Titanic, the American Civil War, or even the tragedy of the attacks on the World Trade Center in that fictional TV characters will be retro-fitted into the narrative of any of the protest parades held around the world.
And so it could be for the Doctor. Several people participating in the Women's March that day in London had their picture taken with Peter Capaldi who was also marching.
So, for you Fanficcers out there, why not use these pictures as a jumping off point for stories about the Doctor's participation in the march as well?
Look at those pictures - he was even wearing the sonic shades!
And why would he have been there? The Doctor must have known there was a threat against Humanity in the crowds.
I'm thinking Zygons. They would have the best chance for blending into that sea of humans.
And Team Toobworld, you know how much I love crossover fanfic. Here's another picture to add into the mix:
What if Dr. Dana Scully was at the same march and was dragooned into assisting the Doctor in his quest? Her time spent with fellow agent Fox "Spooky" Mulder, as well as her own individual experiences, would put her in good stead to accept the Doctor's crazy strategies.
I've even got a great title for a story which teams up Dr. Dana Scully with the Doctor: "PARADOX". Get it? It's a pun, Mate.
BCnU!
