He was a great one. I don't remember my family watching the original series, but I did have a CRACKED spoof of him (Columboob) and other tv detectives in Defective Detectives. I did see a couple episodes of the later version of the series, in the 1990s. I enjoyed him in a number of films, too, but I can only recall him in Princess Bride. (That would have made a good tv series, I think.)
