UPDATE: IN THE THICKE OF IT

CBS has released this press release concerning Alan Thicke's appearance on 'The Bold & The Beautiful' and which also dashes my crossover hopes:

Actor Alan Thicke will make his daytime drama debut on THE BOLD AND THE BEAUTIFUL, Wednesday, Aug. 30 and Thursday, Aug. 31 on the CBS Television Network. Thicke guest stars as outspoken talk show host Rich Ginger, of "The Rich Ginger Show," where Donna Logan has her first big television interview as the lead model for Forrester Creations' "Brooke's Bedroom" lingerie line. Thicke appears in scenes with Ronn Moss (Ridge Forrester), Lesli Kay (Felicia Forrester) and Jennifer Gareis (Donna Logan).

Rich Ginger. Yikes! What a name! Even sticking a "P.I." or "M.D." after it couldn't put some muscle into that name!

So much for him appearing as Dennis Dupree, or as himself, or even as an unnamed talk show host.

Still, it should be a lot of fun, and who knows? Perhaps CBS will see fit to eventually work 'The Rich Ginger Show' into its other soaps.......
