Even funnier (or so I believe), SCTV offered a take on JE, with Joe Flaherty portraying Rochester as Eddie Anderson. Otherwise, it was a fairly straight take.
It's funny, but as I was putting together the longer article yesterday I thought - wouldn't it have been funny if Jack Benny did a Jane Eyre sketch with "Rochester"? I must have seen that SCTV sketch. Glad to see I can subconsciously rip off the good stuff!
