THE BATTLE OF GETTYSBURG

Today marks the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg, probably the bloodiest, deadliest engagement on American soil.

Here are some TV shows that referenced the Battle of Gettysburg:

TV CHARACTERS WHO FOUGHT IN THE BATTLE

THE TIME TUNNEL
Episode: The Death Merchant (1967)
Ending up on different sides just prior to the Battle of Gettysburg, Doug and Tony must stop an attempt by Machiavelli (who had traveled in time from the Renaissance due to the Time Tunnel Project) from trying to affect the outcome of the battle and send him back into time.

RAWHIDE
Episode: Incident at Alkali Sink (1963)
Father-in-law (Stanton) is determined to break up daughter's (Lorraine) sudden marriage to Burt Harvey because he considers Burt a coward who quit the war in the midst of the Battle of Gettysburg after his brother was killed beside him.

TWILIGHT ZONE
Episode: Still Valley
Confederate Sergeant Joseph Paradine goes into the nearby town and finds that the Union forces there seem to be frozen in time. He learns from an old man that he is a male witch and has cast a spell on them using his book of magic. The old man sees the Yankees as invaders and is keen that the South win the war. Knowing that he is going to die by sunset, he gladly gives his book of witchcraft to Paradine to support the cause. When he returns to camp, Paradine's commanding officer is far more concerned about the battle they will enter into the next morning that about the book his Sergeant has in his possession.

Paradine discovers that, not only must he praise the name of the devil, but he must renounce the name of God. Rather than do either, Paradine throws the book into the fire, saying that if the Confederacy is to die, let it be buried in hallowed ground. The next day, Paradine receives orders that the army is going to march to Gettysburg.
