CLOTHES MAKE THE TIME LORD

THE LIEUTENANT AND THE DOCTOR
[A CONTINUING SERIES?]

I have written about this photoshopped picture in the Past; that it was a great jumping-off point for a fanfic crossover between ‘Doctor Who’ and ‘Columbo’.

But now that picture might have a sequel….

In the previous blog post, I expounded on a possible fanfic story in which Dorothy McShane (AKA Ace) teamed up with the Curator, a future incarnation of the Doctor who had “retired” in order to tend to his duties in the Under Gallery.  (The position of the Under Gallery’s Curator had been an appointment by his wife, Queen Elizabeth I of England.)

Normally I don’t come up with the fanfic myself; I just make suggestions.  But based on a picture in that last post, it would appear that the Doctor somehow came into possession of Columbo’s shabby raincoat.  Either that, or he was so enamored of the look that he had one made in the replicator on board the TARDIS.

It probably wasn’t the first time that the Doctor filched clothing from Toobworld characters found in other TV series.

Apparently he raided the wardrobe of the arch-criminal known as The Riddler in Gotham City…..

A 2025 TOOBITS AWARD WINNER (AND POSSIBLE FANFICCER'S FRIEND)

One of the Toobits Awards categories which I pass out every year is for Best New Child Character.  And this year, it goes to Lenny Rush, who played UNIT science advisor Morris Gibbons in several episodes of ‘Doctor Who’ in the first season of the 15th Incarnation’s tenure.  (Apparently, a passing asteroid somehow bathed him in cosmic rays which significantly amplified his intelligence.)

I expect we’ll see him again when the show returns later in 2025.

But....

Maybe he won't be coming back.  Or perhaps the show will not be delving too deeply into his background.  All we have is his word for that asteroid being the "splainin to do" as to why he is now hyper-intelligent.  Of course, he gave that splainin in front of several UNIT witnesses; they could have spoken up and called horse hockey-pucks on that story if he was lying.

But were they eye-witnesses to the transformation?  Was anybody there?

Keeping this Toobworld-centric, what if there is no such person as Morris Gibbons?  What if this small-fry scientist is someone who is descended from a combination of human genetics with those of humanoids from Sahndara and the Time Lords of Gallifrey.

I'm talking about Dr. Miguelito Loveless from 'The Wild, Wild West'.

In his double hands-full of episodes, Loveless always looked like he died at the end (if he didn't escape somehow.)  But because he had Time Lord DNA, he apparently regenerated.  However since he always came back looking the same, that was due to his blend of human and Sahndaran DNA.  (The main contribution of his Sahndaran genetics is that he looked like a refugee from that doomed planet named Alexander.)

As I said, this all depends on what more we learn about Morris.  But I like the idea that he was able to alter his appearance, perhaps with something mundane like plastic surgery.  Or maybe some magical elixir or glamour spell from some other TV series.

As for working on the side of "goodness and niceness", maybe he's just biding his time.  Maybe... he's playing a... Long Game.

FANFICCER'S FRIEND - PERI AND THE SIXTH INCARNATION OR...?

I have advocated this in the past - bring back Colin Baker to 'Doctor Who'... but not as the Sixth Incarnation.

Prime-Time has marched on and Baker no longer looks like his Doctor at the point of regeneration.  This was proven within the soul of the Thirteenth Incarnation when she communed with the "spirits" of some of her past Incarnations.

At least there, it was a landscape of the soul and mind, they could look like - or wore - anything they preferred.

But we see him and Peri here on board the TARDIS now helmed by the Fifteenth Incarnation.  If he was to have a physical presence in some hypothetical fan fiction, than I suggest applying the principle of Occam's Razor and go for the simplest "splainin to do":

Baker would not be appearing as the Sixth Incarnation of the Doctor.  He would be on board with Peri Brown as an earlier character he played - Commander Maxil.

From the TARDIS Wiki:
Zealous and humourless, Maxil was a Time Lord commander of Gallifreyan Chancellery Guard and Castellan of the High Council.

Maxil became Commander of the Chancellery Guard. During this time, he stunned the Fifth Doctor with a staser blast and confined him in a cell under the Capitol to await the judgement of President Borusa and the High Council. He also planted a listening device in the Doctor's TARDIS on the orders of Castellan Jerricho. (TV: Arc of Infinity)

He may have been a Time Lord but that doesn't mean he is frozen in Time in any particular Incarnation.  That body would have continued to age until it was forced to regenerate.

So if Baker is in this picture as Maxil, then we can assume he didn't regenerate since last we saw him.

And as for fanfic...?

I think it would be sweet if Maxil was reunited with Peri and where once they were antagonistic to each other, perhaps she was able to break him out of his hard-hearted humorless shell.  And eventually she could see something of the Doctor, more than just something of a facial resemblance.

It would make a nice variation to the Beauty and the Beast trope.

KAMEKONA TUPUOLA - A MONDAY MEMORIAL TVXOHOF TRIBUTE

From KTLA:
Actor Taylor Wily, best known for his role as Kamekona Tupuola on “Hawaii Five-0,” has passed away. He was 56 years old.

Lana Girl Langi, a Hawaiian personality and musician, announced his death on the local lifestyle show ‘’Island Life Live’ on June 20.

He’s appeared in Jason Segel’s film “Forgetting Sarah Marshall” and the modern reboots of “Hawaii Five-0,” “Magnum P.I.” and “MacGyver.”

As something of a confidential informant, Kamekona Tupuola proved useful to the Five-0 squad, Angus MacGyver, and Thomas Magnum.  And he was always around if you craved some flavored shaved ice, various shrimp dishes, or a sight-seeing tour in a helicopter.

Of course, it was his interactions with those other characters on their TV shows which get him into the Television Crossover Hall of Fame as one of the representatives for the Toobworld of TV Show Remakes – Toobworld-Toobworld or Toobworld2….

KAMEKONA TUPUOLA

From the 'Hawaii Five-0" Wiki:
Kamekona Tupuola is a confidential informant for the Hawaii Five-0 team and entrepreneur who runs Wailoa Shave Ice, The Shrimp Truck and a Hawaiian tour helicopter company.

And there’s more information from another wiki….

From Five-0 Pedia:
Kamekona is an ex-criminal informant who has ties to the underworld of Hawai'i. He is first introduced in “Pilot” when Chin Ho joins the Five-0 task force; Kamekona aids them in their search for Victor Hesse. Kamekona owns his own shave ice business named, Waiola Ice.

Kamekona frequently helps Five-0 in certain cases due to his former years in that type of work.

After the “Pilot”, he later appears in other episodes.  Among them:
  • “Lankila” to which Steve McGarrett has tasked Kamekona to "babysit" his little sister, later on though Steve's sister, Mary Anne manipulates Kamekona into letting her go, he tells Steve she used a "Jedi mind trick".
  • He appears briefly in “Ho'apono” when Kono is out with Lily asking her questions about the incident in that episode.
  • In “Mana'o” it appears that he now has moved his franchise to be a mobile one instead the original one, declaring it "old school."
  • He appears again in “Heihei” watching McGarrett repairing his house from the events of the previous “Po'ipu”.
  • In “Hana 'a'a Makehewa”, he brings Danny an oversized Santa suit which Danno wears annually as a tradition for his daughter.

Here are the shows which qualified Kamekona for membership in the Hall.  (All summaries are from the IMDb unless otherwise stated.)

HAWAII FIVE-0

171 Episodes (2010–2020)

Again, from the ‘Hawaii Five-0 Wiki’:
In the “Pilot” episode, Lieutenant Chin Ho Kelly recruited Kamekona for information into the death of Lieutenant Commander Steve McGarrett's father, John McGarrett.  (In exchange for information, Kamekona charged money for a 'Wailoa Shave Ice' t-shirt.)

In many episodes, he is seen bringing food to the Five-0 team or assisting them in their investigations and is considered a close friend.

MacGYVER
FLASHLIGHT (2017)

In their trivia section for this episode, the IMDb posted this:

By crossing over with 'Hawaii Five-0', 'MacGyver' is now firmly placed in the same TV Universe as 'JAG', all three 'NCIS' series, and 'Scorpion'.

O’Bservation:
This is only partially true.  ‘MacGyver’ is in the same TV DIMENSION as the other two remakes - ‘Hawaii Five-0’ and ‘Magnum P.I.’.  Technically, they are in the same TV dimension as an alternate version of ‘NCIS: LA,’ which was only seen in that one episode of ‘Hawaii Five-0’.  All of the other ‘NCIS’ shows, plus their mothership of ‘JAG’ and ‘Scorpion’ as well, all exist in the main Toobworld, Earth Prime-Time.

As for the other half of the crossover....

HAWAII FIVE-0
PUKA 'ANA
(2017)

The events of the ‘MacGyver’ cross-over episode are talked about.

MAGNUM P.I.
7 Episodes (2018-2020)

(The pictures all come from the same episode - "A World Of Trouble".)

1] FROM THE HEAD DOWN (2018)
A] Taylor Wily plays his character Kamekona from the remake of ‘Hawaii 5-0’. One scene is filmed at the restaurant that Steve McGarrett and Danny Williams were planning to open. This crossover from ‘Hawaii 5-0 follows’ on from the appearance of Kimee Balmilero (Dr. Noelani Cunha) in the first episode of the remake of ‘Magnum P.I.’

B] In the early restaurant scene, Kamekona (Taylor Wily) jokingly calls Magnum "Rockford", in reference to James Garner's character in ‘The Rockford Files’ (1974).

O’Bservation:
This not a Zonk, not a “Darrin Discrepancy”.  There has never been a remake of ‘The Rockford Files’, and the Good jakLord willing, there never will be one.  In Toobworld-Toobworld, ‘The Rockford Files’ is just a fictional TV series.  We have no clue if it even resembled the TV series from our world.  For alls I know, "Jim Rockford" was "just this guy, you know?"

Had this been a reference from a TV series set in Earth Prime-Time, as was the case with Big Pussy’s mention of it in an early episode of ‘The Sopranos’, than he would have either been referring to the actual detective (who did work on some publicity-generating cases), or a TV show made about his life, as often happens to people in the main Toobworld.

2] DAY OF THE VIPER (2019)

3] LIE, CHEAT, STEAL, KILL (2019)

Three "Hawaii Five-O" characters - Noelani, Kamekona and Flippa - make crossover appearances in this episode.
Kamekona's line to TC about coming to him with a favor some time, and TC not saying no, is taken from “The Godfather”
(1972).

4] DESPERATE MEASURES (2020)

5] MONDAYS ARE FOR MURDER (2020)

6] A GAME OF CAT AND MOUSE (2020)

7) A WORLD OF TROUBLE (2020)

But wait!  There’s more!

With those three series, Kamekona easily qualifies for membership in the TVXOHOF as a citizen of Toobworld2.  But what if I told you that he appeared even earlier in that particular TV dimension?

NORTH SHORE
TIES THAT BIND (2004)

O’Bservation:
Wiley’s character was unnamed, but his occupation was as a "Bartender" at the Sugar Bar & Grill.  He was O’Bviously deep into his mob connections, as evidenced by the way he threatened Jason and Frankie who were hoping to get some info.

Frankie relieved him of his baseball bat and might have done some serious damage.  But luckily for Kamekona, Jason spotted the low-life they were seeking and they gave chase.

That was the last we saw of the bartender, but if we accept now that he was Kamekona, then this turn of events was probably his “Road to Damascus” moment.  Over the next six years, before we would see him again in the pilot episode of ‘Hawaii Five-0’ in 2010, he must have worked to better himself spiritually and probably found inner peace in shaved ice.

Welcome to the TV Crossover Hall, Kamekona.  I’m sorry Taylor Wiley has joined the Choir Invisible, but there’s nothing to prevent us from claiming that you still live on in Earth Prime-Time Redux.  In fact, I won’t be around someday to say so, but you could still be going strong by 2054, well into your eighties, enjoying the riches from the financial empire you built.

Raising a cup of shaved ice in memory of Taylor Wiley....

THE DOCTOR & CAPTAIN AMOS BURKE

The second best place for TV series of any era to cross over with each other is not to be found in their home medium of television; it would be in comic books/strips.  (The best would be the metafictional universe of literature.  That depends only on the written word and the imagination of the author, without regard to the fates of the original actors or for copyright concerns… if couched in veiled references if needed.)

Comic books would require collaboration with an artist, but at least the end result would provide the look of the story for those too lazy to use their own imagination.

The TARDIS Wiki noted several comic strip crossovers between ‘Doctor Who’ and one of my favorite detective series, ‘Burke’s Law’ back in the mid-60s.  Of their three examples, “Who Killed Death?”/”Daleks Suffer Heavy Losses!” had the strongest case of a crossover.  Here’s what they had to say about it:

"Burke's Law" is a television series created by Frank D. Gilroy, Ivan Goff, and Ernest Kinoy which originally aired on ABC from 20 September 1963 - 12 January 1966. It was later spun off into a series of comics published in TV Century 21 alongside "The Daleks".

The series follows the title character of Amos Burke, a member of the Los Angeles Homicide Bureau who works alongside some other members of the bureau.

As the conceit of TV Century 21 was that all its series took place in a single universe, several Burke's Law stories from its pages crossed over freely with the Doctor Who universe. This included references to Burke's Law's characters and ongoing storylines in the prose "cover stories".

"Who Killed Death?" was a "Burke's Law" comic printed in TV Century 21 in  July 31 - August 07, 1965.

The story crossed over with the "Doctor Who" universe by marking the reappearance of the titular character Irvin Death, who had debuted in the Dalek short story "Daleks Suffer Heavy Losses!".

The titular character is, fittingly, only referred to as "Death" in this story. He is given the full name "Irvin Death" in "Daleks Suffer Heavy Losses!".

The other two stories which dealt with the supposed crossovers were:

"Who Killed Elias Hoodreim?" [April 24, 1965]
&
"Who Killed Lord Nelson?" [July31 - August 07,1965]

If you want to read about those stories, click here.

Captain Burke dealt with a lot of odd colorful characters during the run of 'Burke's Law' and most of the incarnations of the Doctor would have provided plenty for the Homicide team to deal with.  Think of Detective Tim Tilson trying to figure out Jamie McCrimmon's perspective on the world, while Sgt. Les Hart was hung up over him wearing a "skirt".

With 'Columbo' sharing the same dimension with both of those shows, maybe Detective Duggan (from "City of Death") could have been sent to Los Angeles as the English contribution to the exchange program while Columbo was in London for the "Dagger of the Mind" case.

What crossovers can you picture between 'Burke's Law' and 'Doctor Who'?  Let me know!

ROSE TYLER, UCONN FAN?

During an appearance on ‘The Graham Norton Show’, Billie Piper once said that her appearances in commercials for Smash Hits magazine led to her earliest acting gigs.

It’s nice to see that UConn has even a tenuous connection to ‘Doctor Who’….

LUNCH-TIME - TIME FOR A BREAK!

MEME MUSINGS - WEEPING ANGELS IN OUTER SPACE

Gowron was a master of the glare, but the Weeping Angels were patient.  Eventually, he would need to blink and not even his bat’leth would be able to stave off the touch of one of the Angels in that zeptosecond in which he blinked.

To me, the more interesting question would be where Gowron would have ended up.  It seems that each angel had a different period of time and location to which their victims would be transported.  The Angel who fed off the unrealized life potential of Amy and Rory sent them both to Manhattan, 1938.  Luckily they eluded that building which served as a feeding pen for the Angels.

Could the Angels only send their victims back to a particular span of Time, and only to a specified radius of regions in proximity to their current location?  The Angel who claimed Kathy Nightingale as a victim sent her to Hull, England, in 1920.  But of that quartet of Angels, the one who attacked DS Billy Shipton must have been a young one who could only send him back to 1969 and no farther than the immediate environs of London.

I think an Angel would be bound by some kind of planetary energies to keep their victims trapped in the Past of whatever planet where they were located.  But if out in space, on the move in a spaceship, I would think being touched by an Angel would be an automatic death sentence.

Not that Chancellor Gowron had to worry about “living to death” because of an Angel.  He was killed in a duel with Lt. Commander Worf because of Gowron’s dishonorable activities against Klingon General Martok.*  But it would be interesting to see what would happen if an Angel did send a victim back in Time while on board a spacecraft.

* O'Bservation, it could be that he met a Weeping Angel in a future timeline and sent back to the time of his appearances in Star Trek': The Next Generation'.  There, he tried to alter his future, only to be killed in the past, perhaps even before he was actually was born....

P.L. TRAVERS' TIME LORD

I've got no argument with that.

Had I known about this argument back in the mid-1970s, maybe I would have asked P.L. Travers about this when she spoke to my Children's Literature class at UConn....

DECEMBER 2023 TVXOHOF - IT'S A WONDERFUL CROSSOVER PART ONE

A few years ago, the Television Crossover Hall of Fame inducted at least 12 televersions of the TV shows we watch here in the Trueniverse, but which definitely existed in Toobworld.  (As is the case with the huma-# er, the living members of the TVXOHOF, all they needed were three other TV series verifying their existence in Earth Prime-Time.)

But we’ve never inducted a movie into the Hall before… and that ends this month.  And considering it’s December, with its holiday season, there was only one movie which was the perfect choice to be the first film to be granted the “honor”….

“IT’S A WONDERFUL LIFE”

From Wikipedia:
"It's a Wonderful Life" is a 1946 American Christmas supernatural drama film produced and directed by Frank Capra. It is based on the short story and booklet "The Greatest Gift" self-published by Philip Van Doren Stern in 1943, which itself is loosely based on the 1843 Charles Dickens novella "A Christmas Carol". The film stars James Stewart as George Bailey, a man who has given up his personal dreams in order to help others in his community and whose thoughts of suicide on Christmas Eve bring about the intervention of his guardian angel, Clarence Oddbody (Henry Travers). Clarence shows George all the lives he touched and what the world would be like if he did not exist.

Theatrically, the film's break-even point was $6.3 million, about twice the production cost, a figure it did not come close to achieving on its initial release. Because of the film's disappointing sales, Capra was seen by some studios as having lost his ability to produce popular, financially successful films. Although "It's a Wonderful Life" initially received mixed reviews and was unsuccessful at the box office, it became a Christmas classic after its copyright expired in 1974 following a lack of renewal and it entered the public domain, which allowed it to be broadcast without licensing or royalty fees.

Today, "It's a Wonderful Life" is considered to be one of the greatest films of all time and among the best Christmas films. It was nominated for five Academy Awards, including Best Picture, and has been recognized by the American Film Institute as one of the 100 best American films ever made. It was No. 11 on the American Film Institute's 1998 greatest movie list, No. 20 on its 2007 greatest movie list, and No. 1 on its list of the most inspirational American films of all time.

Capra revealed that it was his favorite among the films he directed and that he screened it for his family every Christmas season. It was one of Stewart's favorite films.

In 1990, "It's a Wonderful Life" was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress for being deemed as "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant".

An interesting bit of trivia regarding those TV series which were inducted into the Hall – Due to script references, usually delivered as punchlines, they could be radically different from the shows which we saw here on Earth Prime.  Perhaps the most famous of these would be the casting of Joey Tribbiani as Dr. Drake Ramoray in ‘Days Of Our Lives’ for an extended story arc on ‘Friends’.  It’s a shrug-worthy splainin that the televersion of those shows had episodes which were just not available to us on the other side of the Fourth Wall.

But I don’t think that can be applicable to the televersions of movies, as their finished prints should be locked in without alterations… unless George Lucas gets his mitts on them and changes them for the worse.  The only place to find such alterations to movies in the mutliverse of the TV Universe would be in the alternate dimension of Skitlandia, the sketch comedy Toobworld.  (Probably the best example of that ties into our December inductee – the lost ending to “It’s A Wonderful Life” as seen in the December 20, 1986 edition of ‘Saturday Night Live’ hosted by William Shatner.)

I can’t confirm this, but I think “It’s A Wonderful Life” could be the most cited movie in all of Toobworld; not too shabby for something which usually only gets trotted out for seasonal references.  Maybe one of the few flicks which could rival that claim might be the original “Star Wars” or at least the entire franchise.

Here are the most important qualifications for “It’s A Wonderful Life” to be eligible for inclusion – scenes of the movie actually being watched by fictional (to us) TV characters.  (I have included inserts of the scenes being watched when the image is not too clear.)

"The Twilight Zone" Button, Button (TV Episode 1986)

The film is playing on television but Norma Lewis turns it off.

O'Bservation - This was my favorite story in the first TV reboot of 'The Twilight Zone'.

"Cheers" Christmas Cheers (TV Episode 1987)

Everyone watches the final scene on the bar's TV.

O’Bservation – They all claim it’s sappy hokum.  Of course, moments later they’re all reaching for the tissues.

"Hard Time on Planet Earth" Stranger in a Strange Land (TV Episode 1989)

Jesse watches the movie on TV. The scene where Jimmy returns to his family is shown.

O’Bservation – This time, Jesse and his robotic Jiminy Cricket - known as Control - are the insert.

"Parker Lewis Can't Lose" Lewis and Son (TV Episode 1992)

It plays on a TV in the video store.

O’Bservation – This was the most inventive use of the movie I’ve found so far, which had nothing to do with the Christmas season.  As his customers are preparing to flee Mondo Video for the competition, Mr. Lewis mirrors the action in that scene as it plays out on the store TV.

"Roseanne" It's No Place Like Home for the Holidays (TV Episode 1992)

Darlene and David watch the movie on TV.

"Beverly Hills, 90210" It's a Totally Happening Life (TV Episode 1992)

The Walsh family is watching the film on TV.

O’Bservation – The following two episodes of ‘Beverly Hills 90210’ are not available in their streaming options, probably because the music rights could not be secured.  This was not an issue with the 1992 episode, which had a distinct IAWL resonance with two angels reviewing the lives of the characters and eventually taking action to alter the course of their futures a la Clarence.

"Beverly Hills, 90210" Somewhere in the World It's Christmas (TV Episode 1993)

Erica watches the film on television.

"Beverly Hills, 90210" Nine Yolks Whipped Lightly (TV Episode 1999)

Dylan watches the ending at the After Dark.

"Men Behaving Badly" Gift of Jami (TV Episode 1997)

Brenda and the guys are watching It's a Wonderful Life on TV.

O’Bservation – Too cheap probably to use an actual clip; the music we hear was most likely generic and had no relation to the movie.  Of course, I could be wrong.  It's not unheard of.

"The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air" The Alma Matter (TV Episode 1993)

A fragment of this film is shown in this episode

"Melrose Place" Oy! to the World (TV Episode 1995)

Allison is watching the movie on TV….

“Allison, you are in no condition to watch ‘It’s A Wonderful Life’!”

O'Bservation - I don't know who that is in the picture.  She said that line.

Sesame Street: Elmo Saves Christmas (Video 1996)

1] Elmo is watching the movie as he tries to stay awake to see Santa.
2] Ernie and Bert are surprised to hear their names are used by characters in the movie when they see it on a tiny TV at the electronics shop.

"JAG" Answered Prayers (TV Episode 2001)

Featured on the TV while Bud and Mikey are talking.

"One Tree Hill" Songs to Love and Die By (TV Episode 2006)

“It's a Wonderful Life” is playing on the TV set in Haley's hospital room.

O'Bservation - Not that she was in any condition to watch it....

"MacGyver" Bullet + Pen (TV Episode 2017)

This movie is playing in the police station.

"Happy!" When Christmas Was Christmas (TV Episode 2017)

Clips are shown.

"EastEnders" Episode dated 23 December 2019 (TV Episode 2019)

Mo, Kat, Kush, and Tommy watch the film while they're barricaded in the house.

O’Bservation - At a critical moment in the film, the power gets cut to drive them out of the house.

"Ted Lasso" Carol of the Bells (TV Episode 2021)

Ted watches it on TV Christmas morning as he drinks because he misses his son Henry back in the States.

"Hawkeye" Partners, Am I Right? (TV Episode 2021)

It’s playing on the TV at a safe house, after "the Blip".

"Designing Women" The First Day of the Last Decade of the Entire Twentieth Century: Part 1 (TV Episode 1990)

Charlene watches it on TV.

O’Bservation – Yet another TV series episode missing from the roster at Amazon!  I don’t know whether it’s because of music rights or they just don’t want to lock in to a holiday….

"The King of Queens" Food Fight (TV Episode 2002)

Arthur is watching this classic and says he wishes George Bailey would have never been born.

O'Bservation - We never see the movie, but at least in this case, we hear the soundtrack.  Everybody is gathered at the Bailey house to help George and they all start singing a Christmas carol.

"EastEnders" - Episode #1.2944 (TV Episode 2005)

The Slaters watch the film. Little Mo mentions the film to Alfie.

O'Bservation - I was lucky I found that other 'EastEnders' clip.  But that was part of a major plot development.  Couldn't expect lightning to strike twice.

"My So-Called Life" Pilot (TV Episode 1994)

A clip from the film is shown.

"The Sopranos" To Save Us All from Satan's Power (TV Episode 2001)

It comes on when Tony turns the TV on after coming home from dinner.

As I find screen grabs for those missing examples, I will add them in.

This won’t be the only blog post today celebrating the gift of having “It’s A Wonderful Life” in the Television Crossover Hall of Fame.  What kind of a Christmas would it be with just one present?

Merry Christmas, you old movie featuring a Building & Loan!

And welcome to the Hall!

PS
These posts are dedicated to my sister, Leah.  It’s her favorite movie.  It’s taken her years, but she’s won me over into enjoying it as well.

“Miracle On 34th Street” is still my favorite Christmas movie though….
