As it is Memorial Day, and we paid tribute to Colonel Sherman T. (Tecumseh?) Potter today, I thought perhaps we should take a moment and reflect on what he had to say.....
The "Great Caesar's Salad!" expression is interesting.
Perry White's "Great Caesar's Ghost!" did not originate in comics, but came from the TV show that started at the same time as the Korean War, thus Potter wouldn't know the show. On the other hand, it's likely Potter may have know White, maybe even served together previously years ago, and one of them got the expression from the other, but slightly mofified it. Holy cow, I never thought there's be a link between Superman and MASH.
As the Trickster once said, "Reality is boring, that's why I change it whenever I can."
I'm just "The Man Who Viewed Too Much", and "Inner Toob" is a blog exploring and celebrating the 'reality' of an alternate universe in which everything that ever happened on TV actually takes place.
Most of my theories about the TV Universe come from thinking inside the box and thus can't be proven. But I've never been one to shy away from a tall tale.....
Remember: "The more you watch, the more you've seen!"
