I'm not too sure about the full context of the scene, but the Zonk could be splained away as a dream sequence. Since 'The Dick Van Dyke Show' does exist as a TV show in Toobworld (but not exactly as the one we know in the real world), someone could have based a dream - or a nightmare - on it.
