It's because of the 'Odd Couple' episode that 'Password' gets a pass as a legitimate part of Toobworld.  

On 'Million Dollar Password', Ms. White was treated to memories of her past association with the original 'Password', but especially of her late husband Allen Ludden, who was the host of the show.
