'BOARDWALK EMPIRE' 2010-14 'SERGEANT CORK' 1966-68 There are times when TV characters from different series share the same names. One example is Chalky White. Most of you probably know that name from the Prohibition era gangster series 'Boardwalk Empire'.
But in the Victorian England of Toobword, there was also a Chalky White who "walked both sides of the street" when it came to criminal matters. (I think if he wasn't committing the crimes, he was grassing out those who did to 'Sergeant Cork'.)
Even though it's an unusual name, I don't think a connection can be made between the two men. Even a theory of relateeveety would be hard to make convincing, considering the different nations involved, the disparity in the time periods, and the races of both men. It could be done, but it would require a serious suspension of disbelief. BCnU!
There is a possible explanation. Chalky's ancestors could very well have been raised on a plantation owned by English born settlers who were related to the British Chalky White. British Chalky's relatives could talked about him to American Chalky's parents or grandparents, who were then inspired to bestow the nickname upon little Albert(American Chalky's given name).
P.S. I deleted this previously in order to correct a spelling error.
As the Trickster once said, "Reality is boring, that's why I change it whenever I can."
I'm just "The Man Who Viewed Too Much", and "Inner Toob" is a blog exploring and celebrating the 'reality' of an alternate universe in which everything that ever happened on TV actually takes place.
Most of my theories about the TV Universe come from thinking inside the box and thus can't be proven. But I've never been one to shy away from a tall tale.....
Remember: "The more you watch, the more you've seen!"

I like it, Sriram. Youve got a good grasp of the televisiological.
Thank you, Mr. O'Brien. Like you, I tend to spend a good deal of time thinking of such things.
