After the Stargate team went back in Time and changed History in 1969, they came back to a new TV dimension, leaving behind Earth Prime-Time.
So I have no problem with this version of events happening in some other TV dimension.
On top of that, just imagine the triple decker goodness of this part of the crossover:
*I know - it would have been better if I could have used "The Angels Have The Stargate".......
