he falls asleep and dreams of romancing Marilyn Monroe.

About ten years later, in 1963, Jack did essentially the same sketch. However both Marilyn and Artie Auerbach (who played Mr Kitzel in this) had passed away so they needed to be replaced. Jack brought Sam Hearn on to replace Auerbach. Hearn played Schlepperman, a character he had played on Benny's radio show in the 1930s. To replace Marilyn he used Jane Mansfield.
