Earth Prime-Time is populated by live
action TV characters, which also includes the Puppet People. But cartoon
characters can be found in the Tooniverse.
However, the phrase "Never the twain shall meet"
does not apply to characters from either dimension. Live action characters have
crossed over to the Tooniverse, but more frequently the cartoon characters have
crossed over into Toobworld.
Bart Simpson, Daffy Duck, Brian and
Stewie Griffin, even the cartoon Superman (as seen in those American Express
commercials with Jerry Seinfeld) have all made crossover visits to Earth
Prime-Time.
And now we have two new visitors to
the land of flesh-and-blood from that pen-and-ink world:
The Geico Gekko, even though it is animated by use of CGI, is considered
real in Toobworld.
As to why a gekko can speak in this televersion of the "real
world", Toobworld Central has never bothered to think of a splainin - as was the
case for 'Mr. Ed' (a refugee from the Island of the Houyhnhm as seen in
"Gulliver's Travels".) "For alls I know", he could be an alien from another
planet....
At any rate, this blipvert will probably rank as the 2012 Toobits winner
for "Best Crossover Between Toobworld and the Tooniverse".
