David Yates, who directed several movies in the "Harry Potter" franchise, insists that he is still attached to direct a 'Doctor Who' movie, probably in 2015 - despite protests by Steven Moffat to the contrary.
I don't know why everyone has their knickers in a twist over this. After
all, Tim Burton has already completed a 'Doctor Who' movie.....
BCnU!
I wouldn't mind a movie that takes place as part of the series, like X-Files, but I don't want to see a remake of the Peter Cushing film or the series being remade in film form. One of the best parts of Doctor Who history is that it's lasted 50 years following the same continuity. They still show pictures of William Hartnell in the series or make references from the old series all the time, and that's part of what makes it so great. Doctor Who honors its own history and its fans.
