I'm not a fan of the Muppet Elmo, and I didn't want him running around the halls of the TV Crossover Hall of Fame. So I held off his induction for as long as possible (He's been eligible since the Hall first began in 1999, I think.), despite the fact that he may have more qualifying credits than most of the members already installed in the Hall:

For a TV character like Elmo, talk shows are more accepted than for the League of Themselves, because Elmo is truly a fictional character interacting with real people who treat him as if he really exists.
And Elmo has also made appearances in other TV dimensions. Here he is in the 'West Wing' dimension:
And here's he's found in the Springfield of the Tooniverse:
Someone out there on the InterWebs would like us to believe that there is an Elmo in the Evil Mirror TV Dimension:
Elmo seals the deal by appearing on TV with a couple of other members of the TV Crossover Hall of Fame:
(And that's the official Santa Claus from the main Toobworld, to boot!)
'Top Chef', even! |
Oh well.... I guess I'm no longer the only fuzzy red one in the TV Crossover Hall of Fame*.....

One more that I did always like (although I've always preferred Grover to Elmo)--Elmo appeared on an episode of The Torkelsons as the toy of the youngest (Ruth Anne, I think) which came to life to talk to her. That actually quite good little show was revamped into Almost Home in its second, and final, year, so technically Elmo ties two more shows into the greater connection. Of course, some of what you listed included direct-to-video and theatrical releases.
ReplyDeleteYeah, I really didn't want to go through the hassle of weeding out all of the movie entries; not for this guy. But I'm cool with direct to video.....
