"show-me-the-money") it would be best not to try.

Be seeing you...Ivan G Shreve Jrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04067177808320053382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060041.post-1147100877081350332006-05-08T11:07:00.000-04:002006-05-08T11:07:00.000-04:00Well, I've made my feelings known about the old se...Well, I've made my feelings known about the old series. As for the new series, my "job" here at Inner Toob isn't to be a TV critic; plenty of other sites for that.

I see myself as a Caretaker for Toobworld. If the Powers That Be at Sky One are determined to forge ahead with their plans to remake 'The Prisoner', so be it.

What I have to do is find some way to make sure the new version fits somewhere in the vast TV Universe. Thanks to 'Sliders', there are plenty of options among TV dimensions in which to tuck it away.

So that's why I brought up the topic of the new version, because it will fit right in with all the other remakes in their own dimension.

Re: WSN's question, I've always dealt with an "Earth Remake". But I've usually called it "Earth Prime Time Delay", since their counterparts of the original TV characters exist later in the Toobworld chronology. (The obvious reason in the Real World is that they were taped/filmed many years later and updated to reflect that.)

And I'm also not a prognosticator. I don't think this new version of 'The Prisoner' could have any shot in hell of equaling the original. But I can't say that it won't be any good at all.

After all, it can be argued that the new versions of 'Doctor Who' and 'Battlestar Galactica' surpassed the originals.

Who's to say the new 'Prisoner' can't be a good show?

And like I said, I'll always have my DVDs to wipe away the memory if it does turn out bad.....

Thanks for checking in, guys!
TOB3Toby O'Bhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06999037844031101965noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060041.post-1147066788226145222006-05-08T01:39:00.000-04:002006-05-08T01:39:00.000-04:00The mere idea of remaking The Prisoner is--if you'...The mere idea of remaking The Prisoner is--if you'll pardon the pun--Number Two.Ivan G Shreve Jrhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04067177808320053382noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8060041.post-1147055892089344552006-05-07T22:38:00.000-04:002006-05-07T22:38:00.000-04:00So...you have an Earth-Remake?So...you have an Earth-Remake?WordsSayNothinghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18402384592014183826noreply@blogger.com
